TO TESTIFY BEFORE A SPECIAL GRAND JURY - August 22, 2005 - Nine former
or current state officials under indictment. An administration described
by prosecutors as running a "corrupt political machine." This summer in
Kentucky's capital city has been one of dizzying developments played out
in courtrooms and through government e-mails and memos that have become
